Accepting these terms
PandaScan is published by Panda Dev Lab (developer: Abdur Rahman), India. By installing or using PandaScan you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Using PandaScan
PandaScan is provided for scanning, editing and converting documents and photos. You may use it on your own devices, for personal or work use.
You may not resell it, redistribute modified copies, or present it as your own product. You may not reverse engineer it or interfere with how it works, except where the law allows.
Your documents are yours
Everything you scan or create in PandaScan belongs to you, and we claim no ownership over it. It never reaches us: it stays on your phone, and a Google Drive backup, if you turn it on, goes only to your own Drive.
Use it lawfully
Scan, copy and share only documents you have the right to. Identity cards, certificates, currency and other people's papers may be protected by law where you live.
Do not use PandaScan to alter a document so that it misleads, for example by changing names, dates, amounts or photos on an official paper. Do not use it for fraud, forgery or any unlawful purpose.
Google sign-in and Drive backup
Signing in with Google is optional. When you use it, Google's terms and privacy policy also apply to your Google account.
Google Drive backup stores your backups in your own Drive, using your Drive storage. Keeping your Google account secure, and having enough Drive storage, is your responsibility. You can turn Drive backup off, or sign out, at any time.
Accuracy of results
These results are made automatically and can be imperfect:
- border detection, filters and book curve fix
- text recognition and tables
- format conversions and background removal
- the approximate sizes shown before compressing
Check important documents before you submit them, especially to an office, a bank or an exam portal.
Your responsibility for your data
PandaScan stores your data on your phone. Losing the phone, uninstalling the app or clearing its storage loses that data unless you have a backup.
Turn on Google Drive backup or save a backup file in Settings > Backup and restore, and keep copies of anything important. A forgotten PIN cannot be recovered, by design.
Other apps and services
When you share, e-mail, print or save a file, the app or service you choose handles it under its own terms. PandaScan is not responsible for what happens to a file after it leaves the app.
Our rights and open-source parts
The PandaScan name, logo, design and code belong to Panda Dev Lab. These terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app; they do not transfer any ownership.
PandaScan is built with the following, and their licences apply to those parts:
- Android Jetpack, Jetpack Compose, CameraX, WorkManager and Credential Manager (Apache License 2.0)
- PdfBox-Android (Apache License 2.0)
- Google ML Kit and Google Play services (Google's terms)
Updates and availability
We may update PandaScan to add, change or remove features, or to fix problems. Some features, such as Google sign-in and Drive backup, depend on Google services that we do not control and that may change or become unavailable.
No warranty
PandaScan is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the extent the law allows. This includes fitness for a particular purpose and error-free or uninterrupted operation.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Panda Dev Lab is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. This includes loss of data, documents, profits or opportunities.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
Ending use
You can stop using PandaScan at any time by uninstalling it. We may stop offering the app, or parts of it, at any time.
If you break these terms, your right to use the app ends. The parts on your documents, your data, no warranty, limitation of liability and governing law still apply after that.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Uttar Pradesh, India, unless the law of your country gives you the right to bring it where you live.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated with new versions of the app. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
